We didn’t anticipate such a response. The toys and books gathered by Changeworks’ friends for The Smith Family's Toy and Book Christmas appeal will certainly fill a few Santa sacks! The pile of goodies just grew and grew with items to suit all ages.
In addition to the mountain of gifts, our Changeworks' network has also donated over $3,600 for the cause, which contributes to preparing children for the school year ahead.
A huge thank you for your generosity of spirit. It’s easy to forget that over one million children live in poverty in Australia and we’re learning how much The Smith Family are doing to help families afford the cost of their children's essential education items.
Among the items donated were over 600 hundred copies of ‘Thumzee & His Great Adventure’, generously gifted by the book’s illustrator and author Anthony Mok.
